It is not the best food in London and it is not even the best value food in London. However it is exceptionally reliable. I have been here about 15 times a year for the last five years and the food is incredibly good and consistent. The staff are friendly, yet attentive. The atmosphere always brilliant, not however somewhere you want to go for a quiet conversation. They have actually taken the time to find seriously good mixes of music which changes all the time, like their menu. Old favourites remain but they change others every few months. Rueben Sandwich is fantastic as is the Steak Tatare and House Malbec. Sad that the Diner Club scheme is ending but even at full price it is a wonderful gem in London which I have lost many hundred hours of my life to. If you can get a table outside, it is a great place to have breakfast and watch Portobello Road walk by.
